Recorders
County Recorders are the main contact for their chosen groups within Huntingdonshire District and Peterborough. They will assist with the identification of specimens and prepare reports on their chosen group. Click on the email address links below to submit a record. We do currently have some positions vacant, so if this is your field are you are interested in being a County Recorder, please contact us by clicking on the Position Vacant below. One of these species groups may be your specialist interest or perhaps you would like the opportunity to learn more about a more obscure species group which is not so well known.

The Biological Records Centre provides a list of national recording schemes and mobile phone Apps they are involved with.
If you do send records to any of these schemes, including iRecords, NBN or CPREC please send a copy direct to the County Recorder so your records can be logged on the County database and included in the Annual Report.

Mammal
The Cambridge Mammal Group provide a link to iRecord via ‘Sightings’. The Mammal Society has a mobile phone app.

Birds
Records can be sent to the Cambridge Bird Club on the BTO revised spreadsheet. At a national level the BTO “Birdtrack” is an option.

Amphibians and Reptiles
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Amphibian and Reptile Group have a “Record a sighting” form.
Fish
There is a national biological recording scheme run by Biological Records Centre.
Flowering Plants
Send records directly to the Recorder who maintains BSBI records for Vice County 31.

Plant Galls

Fungi

Records go directly to the British Lichen Society via the recording forms accessible from the downloads page. Online recording is also possible via iRecord.

The County Recorder is the main contact for records in Huntingdonshire see the Huntingdon Moth and Butterfly Group (HMBG). Butterfly Conservation also repatriate records to County Recorders for verification, about once a year.

There is a national Lacewings and Allies Recording Scheme, which encourages records working in collaboration with iRecord and NBN.
